Magic Weekend Predictions

Tackle Count Logo

This weekend sees the whole round of Super League games played at Anfield, the home of Champions League finalists Liverpool FC. The weekend has some great games in store and some teams seasons could be almost decided by results this weekend!

It's also a great weekend for our 40/20 offer, if you spend over £40 you get 20% off for this weekend only (Starts Friday 24th until Monday 27th May) https://tacklecount.com/collections/all

Lets start off with the first game of the weekend

Wakefield Wildcats v Catalans Dragons

Wakefield lost last time out against an improving London side, but they have the ability to turn over the Dragons.

Catalans have a big strong forward pack that will be hard to stop if they get a roll on down the middle, but with Commander in Chief Greg Bird out with a torn bicep they could lack direction. I’m saying Wakefield 10-28 Catalans.

Hull FC v Huddersfield Giants

Hull narrowly beat Warrington in the last game and have players returning from injury. However, they are still troubled with the absence of experienced forward Gareth Ellis.

The Giants will be in buoyant mood following their 30-22 victory over Hull KR last week and they also ran saints close in the cup! Their league position could be improved if they win and other results go favourably! For this game I have to say Hull 18-26 Huddersfield.

WIgan Warriors v Warrington Wolves

Wigan will be hurting after losing last week in Barcelona against Catalans and coach Adrian Lam will be looking for a reaction from his players.

Warrington are without influential full back Stefan Ratchford with a torn bicep, and also go into the game on the back of a loss to Hull FC on their own midding. I have to go with Wigan 24-20 Warrington

Salford Red Devils V Hull KR

The Red Devils will be looking for revenge this weekend after getting dumped out of the cup by Hull KR. Their league position suggests the should win this comfortably, and after running leaders St Helens close last week you'd think they should stand a chance.

Hull KR are trying to avoid the drop this season and so they'll be desperate to get back to winning ways after narrowly losing out to Huddersfield last week. I have to go for Salford 30-10 Hull KR in this one.

Leeds Rhinos v London Broncos

In my opinion the winner of this game will be playing Super League next year. The Rhinos have had a rough season, and Richard Agar knows that only a win will do in this dogfight to avoid a potential embarrassment, but that could be easier said than done.

London have a good group and look to be improving every week. After beating Wakefield in their last game they'll be feeling confident of pulling off an upset at Anfield. A win for London could see them move off the bottom and into tenth place if results go their way, and that would be a definite positive for Danny Ward at this stage of the season! I have to say Leeds 6-32 London in this one.

St Helens v Castleford Tigers

The Saints have only lost once so far this season, but they've had a couple of close calls lately. Huddersfield ran them close in the cup earlier in the month, and it was only a controversial late try that stopped them going down to a spirited Salford team last week.

The Tigers got back on track with a win against Leeds last week after a 4 game losing streak, but will be without forward Jesse Sene-Lefao, who has been allowed to return to Australia indefinitely on compassionate grounds. I still think Cas will be confident of coming home with a win. I'm going to put my neck on the line here and say St Helens 14-24 Castleford.

These predictions are only my opinions, so if I was you I wouldn't go put any money on them! You're probably better to save your money for our 40/20 offer, if you spend over £40 you get 20% off for this weekend only (Starts Friday 24th until Monday 27th May) https://tacklecount.com/collections/all
